Cultivation of the Innermost Mind
Three years ago when I left California, my friend gave me a Buddhist booklet which is a collection of short inspirational phrases. I like to read them sometimes. Many ideas in that book are very similar to what I’m learning in World Divine Light.
A page I opened today says;
“Cultivate peace first in the garden of your heart by removing the weeds of selfishness and jealousy, greed and anger, pride and ego. Then all will benefit from your peace and harmony.”
This reminds me the one of our important practice of changing Sonen. Sonen is Japanese word and means the innermost mind or thought. We create our life experiences through our way of thinking. In order to let our lives prosperous, it is vitally important for us to become positive from innermost thoughts and feelings. If we have negative thoughts in our Sonen, it’s better we change it from negative to positive.
I would like to talk more about what the Sonen is and how it can be changed next time.
